School Programs

Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean art dating back over 2000 years. It is a martial art that is a way of life not a sport. Training is based on the whole person concept, meaning balanced training of mind, body and spirit. Training covers hand and foot techniques, forms, self defense, weapons, meditation and breaking. All instructors are certified through the World Tang Soo Do Association. The WTSDA is an international organization dedicated to sharing the art of Tang Soo Do and committed to being of service in their communities.

PRE-K PROGRAMS, TIGERS

Tigers take on the world with endless energy and curiosity. Through this on-site program, Master Ohlson leads classes in your preferred environment and guides children through a play based curriculum that brings the foundations of the martial arts to life. Students learn basic stances, blocks, kicks, punches, self-defense, forms, and etiquette, earning stripes along the way. Children develop listening skills, eye hand coordination, focus, respect and safe play.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS, K-4TH

Elementary aged students are entering into the world of responsibility and accountability, all while being playful. After school programs for this age group are customized for each school. The key components are 1) snack and transition from the classroom, 2) traditional Tang Soo Do training, 3) homework review and strategies for success. Students will develop martial foundations and track their development during the program by earning stripes on their belts.

SAFETY AND SELF AWARENESS, 5th-12th

This program is based on the philosophy that the best form of self defense is to avoid dangerous situations. In order to do so, an individual must be aware of both self and surroundings and be confident in their action. Curriculum covers the concept of safety, types of awareness, the power of confidence and self defense skills: vital points, effective striking, joint locks and escapes. Courses are available to middle and high school age students, curriculum varies by age.
