This class brings together elements of the Iyengar tradition and a moderately paced vinyasa style flow class.The instructor focuses on finding the ease in each pose through proper alignment and the use of props. Emphasis is placed on core strength, body and breath awareness, and the importance of synchronizing breath with movement. Restorative poses are incorporated on occasion for a special treat as well. Classes are suitable for students of all levels.
Kristen has been dedicated to the study of yoga since 2002, when yoga was offered at her workplace as a means of reducing stress and promoting employee wellbeing.Intrigued by the calm awareness that yoga brought to her,she began to explore various styles of yoga outside of the corporate world, including Iyengar,Ashtanga,Forrest and Restorave.In 2006,Kristen completed the 200 hour Yoga Tree San Francisco Teacher Training, and has since been continuously seeking out new knowledge and inspiration to bring to her students.Kristen is also a certified Advanced Relax and Renew Restoratyive Trainer,and is a firm believer in the power of restorative yoga. Her passion for yoga stems from an appreciation of the mindfulness and inner peace that the practice has brought to her,and she is grateful for the opportunity to share the giK of yoga with her students.
Kristen's own practice and teaching style have been primarily influenced by Karl Erb, Christopher Love,Judith Hanson Lasater,Jonathan Reynolds, and Christine Chang Imrey of Yoga Motion Studio.
